RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into project plans.
- Provide safety training programs for construction site personnel, emphasizing best practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on-site.
- Keep abreast of industry safety trends and regulations, updating safety protocols accordingly.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
- NEBOSH and OSHA certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address safety concerns.
- Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and materials.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
