RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into project plans.
  • Provide safety training programs for construction site personnel, emphasizing best practices and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on-site.
  • Keep abreast of industry safety trends and regulations, updating safety protocols accordingly.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits.

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
  • NEBOSH and OSHA certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address safety concerns.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and materials.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
