RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean, prepare, or finish surfaces according to project requirements.
- Select appropriate abrasive materials and adjust blasting parameters for optimal results.
- Prepare surfaces by masking, taping, or covering areas not to be blasted.
- Inspect surfaces for cleanliness and adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to understand blasting requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot abrasive blasting equipment for efficient operation.
- Document blasting processes, including material usage and conditions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as an Abrasive Blaster or similar role.
- Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret project specifications and blasting requirements.
- Familiarity with various abrasive media, including sand, grit, and shot.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Adherence to safety protocols and awareness of potential hazards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness for prolonged periods of standing and manual labor.
- Certification in abrasive blasting or related field is advantageous.
